Hmm - just remembered I'm from there too!!
Welcome to Penwith Genealogy Vicky63
Noy(e) is a name that usually conjures up the name of Sir Walter Noye - or was it Sir William?
Anyway I recall trying to look at a couple of these lines several years ago when I had many less resources than are now available.
What I found then was that there seemed to be the big Noys and the little Noys.
Perhaps a little like the Painter/Paynter families.
In this case you have also added the Bottrell name which seems to be another in the same category.
I actually have your Robert Noy in my database with wife Elizabeth Bottrell but currently do not have any earlier links for either.
Looking at what I do have might prove useful.
There are nine children to Robert and Elziabeth in my database and I would be inclined to think the two eldest children might give some clues.
The first child was William baptised at St Just in 1784 and he was followed by Sarah in 1786.
Then followed Elizabeth, Robert and Elizabeth who would appear to have been named for their parents.
So William and Sarah would be the obvious clues to parentage - but were they the names from the Noy or Bottrell side?
The only other sons I have recorded for Robert and Elizabeth are Henry and George which names appear in both the Noy and Bottrell families as I recall.
With no baptism immediately forthcoming on IGI or anywhere else that I can find at the moment we need to think about some options for the origins of Robert Noy.
His children seem to have been baptised in the Established Church which might seem to limit options.
But there may still be the possibility that Robert's family was involved with the Quakers of the Land's End area.
The 1750's (based on my limited knowledge) are a little early for most other non-comformists.
IGI shows a Robert Noy baptised at Madron in 1594 but then we jump to 1789 when Robert son of Robert and Elizabeth was baptised - almost 200 years.
Why should there be such a gap in the one family between instances of that name?
Isles of Scilly might be one option but prior to about 1727 there is little or nothing surviving in the way of Parish Registers.
It could be that Robert was an illegitimate child but ......
One approach might be to look at the Noy families in general around the St Just area to see if there might be a logical place for him to belong.
A surviving Will that names Robert of a member of his family would certainly be helpful also.
My thoughts also considered the possibility that Robert was not the name recorded at baptism.
From 1745 onwards IGI shows that the first Noy baptism during that period at St Just occurred in 1761.
A study of the existing families around St Just might give us a clue so I think that is the best approach for now.
We do have a couple of members who are much more at home with St Just so they may hopefully have a little more information that could help.
