Greetings to all members. I have been researching my family lines for about fifteen years and hope to come into contact with some of my distant cousins back in Cornwall.
My 4th great grandparents were Richard TONKIN and Honour (also spelt Honor) GUY who were married in St Levan on the 26 October 1793. Richard was the son of Enoch TONKIN and Constance JELBARD who were married in St Levan on the 26 October 1766.
I still have a lot of blanks in the family tree for those early years and hope there will be someone out there researching the same family lines.
Regards to all members,
Roy.

Alright there and welcome to the board, I have these surnames on my tree. The Tonkin family are very difficult to research in my experience because "there's 'undreds of they" and they didn't have a wide range of Christian Names!!! I have a good link for Jelbard/Gilbert that has files you can download for the various branches. I've had a look for you and I can't find Constance and Enoch- although Constance is a name that the Jelbard families seemed to like!!! Anyway, have a look at the files on the Jelbert Society and see if you can come up with anything... www.rogerj.co.uk/jelbsoc.htm

Thank you for the welcome Malcolm and Tony.
I will check out the Jelberd Society today Malcolm. I agree with you about the Tonkins not having a wide range of christian names, however, the names started changing about 1950.
The early bird catches the worm Tony. As I put a few more names on the board you may find a connection. Let me know if you do.
Have a good day mates,
Roy ... from Down Under.
