I'm trying to find more info on HENRY ROACH, born in Towednack, probably in 1803. I've found him in the census records 1841 up to 1881, married to MARY (Lorey). I would love to find his parents and/or confirm his date of birth, as well as find his death record (between 1881-1891). I would appreciate any advice or information. Thank you, Sue

There was a Henry Couch Roach born 14.4.1803 Towednack No father mentioned - mother down as Jane Roach.
Henry married Mary Lorey 22.2.1827 Towednack.
I cannot see a death record.

It is possible the baptismal record for Henry has, for some reason, not survived. I know of at least one missing baptism that I should think would have occurred at Towednack about 1801. But in both cases the records for Towednack seem to be consistent so it would seem unlikely that there is anything missing unless the Vicar forgot to write it down. Henry and Mary married 'in the presence of Henry Roach' which would usually indicate the father. But the only Henry Roach baptising children at Towednack around the time of Henry's birth was the husband of Jane Dunstone and I believe it was he who was buried at Towednack in 1801. The Henry present at the marriage was probably either the son of Henry and Jane (bp. 1785 Towednack) or the son of Robert and Elziabeth who was baptised at Towednack in 1806 and died in 1838. It is most likely then that Henry is the following:- Henry Couch Roach bastard son of Jane Roach baptised 14th April 1803 at Towednack
