Although the person concerned (Raymond RODDA) was born Acton, London, his father came from Crowan, so may be of help to somebody De Ruvigny's Roll of Honour 1914-24 RODDA Raymond, Private, No. 204631, 3/4th (Territorial) Battn., The Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regt.), s/o late John James RODDA*, by his wife, Charlotte Ann, (Redcliff Terrace, Bollo Lane, Acton, W), dau of James Brown; born Acton, London, W., 25 November 1897, educ, Church School, Harlington, was a Coppersmith at the Gramaphone Works, Hayes, joined the West Kent Regt. 1 Sept, 1916, served with the Expeditionary Force in France from 1 June 1917, and died at No 17 Casualty Clearing Station 17 Sept following, from wounds recieved in action the previous day. * John James RODDAFrom 1891 Census RG12; Piece: 603; Folio 19; Page 38 and 39 Victory Inn, Mitcham, Croydon, Surrey John RODDA, Head, Married, Aged 50, Licensed Victualler, Born Crowan, Cornwall Charlotte A RODDA, Wife, Aged 34, Born Acton Middlesex John J RODDA, Son, Aged 6, Scholar, Born Handsworth Surrey William A RODDA, Son, Aged 5, Scholar, Born Hamsdworth Surrey Jane RODDA, Daughter, Aged 2, Born Croydon Surrey By the time of the 1901 Census, John Rodda (born Crowan) had died. As Raymond, his son, was born November 1897, this would put his death sometime between early 1897 to 1901. Best regards HeatherC

Hello Rodda searchers. I would like to resolve what happened to every single Rodda born in Crowan between the years 1730 and 1841. You can help by posting your knowledge on the Rodda Board at haine.org.uk/whatilike/roddaboard.phpOr you can talk about your findings here. We are interested in Roddas of Crowan, St Erth, Phillack and Gwinear. But hopefully our transcendantal benign Zenobia will let us post details *here* as the Roddas are in my view at least, a Crowan family. Best regards Dave
