This is the first time I believe that I have entered into the QUICK discussion. The information that I have regarding the lineage of this JANE QUICK was kindly passed on to me a few years ago and is as follows:
Jane Quick baptised 25 April 1773 Towednack; buried 12 Dec 1852 Zennor) married Hannibal Thomas at Zennor on 16 July 1796;
Henry Quick (bapt. St. Ives 23 July 1727; buried Towednack 3 Oct 1811) married Elizabeth Ninnes at Towednack on 22 Dec 1753;
Isaac Quick (baptised 21 Mar 1685 Towednack) married Susanna Oates at Towednack on 5 Mar 1716;
Matthew Quick (born abt 1655) married Sarah Major at Towednack on 27 Nov 1685;
Francis Quick (born 1622 at Zennor) married Elizabeth Paule ca 1640;
Thomas Quick (born 1600, buried 1644 Zennor) married Zenobia (Sinoby) in ca 1619.
I am wondering if any of the above links in with anybody else's records.
Mary

Hi Mary - if you have read through the Quick threads I think you will find that the obvious answer is - Yes! So I need to ask if you have a particular reason for posting this topic as you have? The information is correct as far as I know it but do you have a query regarding any part of it or is there some other link to this information you would like to discuss? CT

Thanks CT. My reason for posting the message was to try and verify whether I did indeed have the correct lineage for this Jane Quick who was my paternal 3xgreat-grandmother, as I had acquired most of the information on the early Quicks from elsewhere. I have looked through all the various Quick threads on this site, but as there are so many of them it can all get a bit confusing!
To the best of my knowledge this Jane Quick was a sister of Henry Quick baptised on 26 March 1755 at Ludgvan who was the father of 'the Zennor Poet' Henry Quick baptised at Zennor on 4 December 1792. Jane's parents Henry Quick and Elizabeth Quick nee Ninnis appear to have had 9 children baptised between 1754 and 1773 - 5 of them baptised at Ludgvan and the other 4 baptised at Towednack.
All the best,
Mary

Henry,the "Zennor Poet" wrote a poem about a blood relative of mine, John Martin 1810-1837, buried Ludgvan after a mining accident. John was betrothed to a young lady. An extract from this dirge-like poem can be found on this site. A brother of John`s is Joseph 1815 who married Mary Ninnes (1817-1860, Ludgvan).Joseph is a gggfather of mine. David

Mary - I know of only eight children to Henry and Elizabeth with four each baptised at Towednack and Ludgvan.
I have just checked the CFHS baptisms again and this confirms only four children at Ludgvan.
David - this was Henry's wife Jane (nee Harry) was was baptised 2nd August 1767 at Morvah.
She first married Thomas Rowe 23rd February 1799 at Sancreed.
Henry's mother was Margery George who married Henry Quick 28th January 1792 at Zennor.

CT,
Of course you are absolutely right. I believe the 8 children of Henry and Elizabeth Quick nee Ninnes are:
Isaac Quick baptised 28 April 1754 Towednack; buried 24 Aug 1754 Towednack; Henry Quick baptised 26 March 1755 Ludgvan; buried 10 Apr 1805 Towednack; James Quick baptised 11 Feb 1759 Ludgvan; Jane Quick baptised 25 Jan 1761 Ludgvan; buried 19 Aug 1767 Towednack; Matthew Quick baptised 27 Jan 1765 Ludgvan; buried 10 April 1765 Towednack; Elizabeth Quick baptised 11 May 1766 Towednack; Matthew Quick baptised 5 Mar 1769 Towednack; Jane Quick baptised 25 April 1773 Towednack; married Hannibal Thomas, Yeoman Farmer of Treen, Zennor at Zennor on 16 July 1796; buried 12 Dec 1852 Zennor. Hannibal and Jane moved to farm at St. Levan in about 1806/1807 before returning to live at Treen where they were living at the time of the 1841 and 1851 censuses.
In my last message I erroneously included a Matthew Quick baptised at Ludgvan in 1761 who appeared in the information passed on to me.
For the record, my descent from Hannibal Thomas and Jane Thomas nee Quick is as follows:
Catherine Thomas (baptised 18 Oct 1812 St. Levan; buried 21 March 1894 Madron) married William Nicholls, Farmer, of Kerrow, Zennor (baptised 19 June 1809 Zennor; died 21 Sep1858 Landithy, Madron) at St. Levan on 6 Feb 1836; Nicholas Thomas Nicholls (born 12 Sep 1840 Tremethack, Madron; died 28 Jan 1900 Landithy, Madron) married Mary Ann Jenkin (baptised 21 March 1841 Madron; died 13 Dec 1929) at Madron on 26 Nov 1864; Walter Henry Nicholls (born 28 June 1877 Landithy Madron; died 22 April 1954 Penzance) married Fanny Nicholls (born 6 June 1880 Penzance; died 22 Sep 1950 Penzance) at St. Mary's Church, Penzance on 12 Feb 1907; John Douglas Nicholls - my late father - (born 3 Nov 1914 Penzance; died 23 Feb 1994 Penzance) married Minnie Harvey (born Mousehole 13 Feb 1913; died Penzance 12 June 2001) at Penzance on 1 January 1944.

Thanks for the update Mary. The children of Henry and Elizabeth now look to be correct.
I have updated the marriage of Catherine Thomas to William Nicholls but will leave the other information alone for now as I don't have time to be updating everything.
