Looking for any info on Raginnis Farm, near Mousehole, Parish of Paul, Cornwall.
Family tree stuff of course.
Ideal to find out ancestry of the James Davey (1769 and Alice Williams (Married 3 Nov 1792 in St Just)
I am Ronald Arnold Davey 6th generation . My forbears came to Australia about 1849 on the ship Trafalgar. I have two generations of decendants as at 2009.

There is a road of that name with a public house at one end (or nearby), frequented by the poet Dylan Thomas (mid-Thirties). I quote DT:"Raginnis is good for you". David.

Possible birth of James Davey 30.7.1769 St Just.
Possible parents Thomas Davey and Alice Garter who married 2.11.1751 Sancreed.

Hello Ronald, we may be very distantly related though the Vingoe family and then through the Davey (not Davies) family at Sancreed. Have a look at this link:- stlevanvingoe.tripod.com/land_farmed_by_the_davey_family_.htmstlevanvingoe.tripod.com/davey_family_photos.htmI agree that James Davey was probably the son of Thomas and Alice Garter as given above- this also coincides with work I am doing on my own family as another Davey marries a Garter. As for Thomas Davey, a possible baptism is 1715 at Gulval, s/o John Davey. It is interesting that Thomas and Alice were marries at Sancreed. In the early 1600's, the Davey family were quite prolific in Sancreed and that is where I have a "solid" connection. Hope this all helps you- I don't envy you your task of tracking down "our" surname.... LOL!!!
