Do you know who the 23 year old Paul Quick is in the 1860 US census at Sparta, Sussex, New Jersey? Given that he is living with John and Anna Trewhella, as well as Richard and John Allen, can I assume that he is the son of Israel Quick and Jane Allen?

All I can say is - not sure. I was doing a fair bit of work a few months ago to try and positively identify Anna Trewhella (nee Allen). With Richard and John Allen with she and John Trewhella in 1860 it seemed likely they were brothers but I have so far not been able to comfortably identify any of them except that they were probably all from Ludgvan. Ann may be the Ann d/o James and Ann Allen bp. 22nd August 1830 at Ludgvan. There was a John Allen bp. 21st December 1823 at Ludgvan s/o James and Ann so he may have been Ann's brother. I am unable to find Richard Allen as yet and there is no birth registered for a Richard in the Penzance R.D. up until 1845 at least. There are a few of that name registered from 1840-1842 at Truro, St Austell and Helston R.D.s. I show Jane Allen (wife of Israel Quick) as daughter of Charles and Wilmot Allen at St Ives. Charles was a blacksmith of Ludgvan when he married so could well be related to James Allen but that is far from proved. Must remember also that there were numerous others registered with the family of John and Anna Trewhella at Sparta, New Jersey in 1860 and that Paul Quick was the last name on the list. CT

Have you found a marriage entry for Charles Allen and Wilmot Edwards other than the IGI?
