Hi. My name is Sarah and I'm not certain if this site is in the correct area of Cornwall that I'm looking for. Many apologies if that's the case. I have Pengelley in my tree (Sarah bc1821 in Looe). I have her marriage and subsequent children, but searching back I'm hitting a brick wall. I've also got Roose in my tree back to 1670 (with lots of help from GR and Ancestry), Flood and Pooley. Any info would be wonderful and if anyone has connections with me I'm happy to share info. Looking at the boards this is a great site and one I shall be looking in on even if I'm not in the right place. Many thanks for reading this

Hello Sarah and welcome to the site. Don't be concerned about being in the right place or not. Whilst primarily set up to deal with West Penwith Genealogy it was soon found that there are many, many links to areas of Cornwall outside that area. In fact anyone with West Penwith links will have links well away from West Penwith. People did move around and there are people from West Penwith even in earlier times who ended up at least temporarily in other parts of Cornwall or England. The same can be said for others who found their way down to West Penwith and this goes back certainly into the 1700's and even before. So whatever your queries we will try to help. I have answered queries here that required research into all parts of Cornwall as well as England and have also done some research into families in America. If you have family who came to Australia, especially Victoria, I can usually help there also. CT
