I'm told that A. K. Hamilton Jenkin produced a series of books called 'Mines and Miners of Cornwall'. The index is online, but the website says the books are available at the Cornish Studies Library in Redruth or the Library of the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro.
If anyone happens to be dropping in to these libraries and has a moment to spare, I would be grateful if they could look up the following names for me to see what further information (if any) is contained in the books:
John CURTIS: 'Mines and Miners of Cornwall' vol 4 page 19 (at least I think it must be John although the index omits the first name)
James DUNN, vol 5 page 17 and vol 10 page 7.

Not the book/s you are looking for but something similar from 1855 on the internet archive site where you can either download or read it online. Cornwall: its mines and miners (1855) by John R Leifchild www.archive.org/details/cornwallitsmine00leifgoogWhen you read this book online there is a search facility. Best regards HeatherC

Thank you HeatherC. That's an interesting book but, as far as I can see, it contains few if any names of individuals. The book (in several volumes) by A K Hamilton Jenkin has a listing of the names of individual miners. The index can be found here www.twelveheads.com/mjm/mmcnames.htm and I was curious to know more of the entries for the names I quoted.
