Time to take a look at what has become another mystery family in the Quick clan.
Edward Quick married Grace Trenerry at St Hilary in 1802
Edward was a 'baker' and was buried at St Ives 12th March 1836 at the age of 53.
Known children:-
William - 1803-1806 St Ives
Elizabeth Trenerry bp. 17th March 1805 St Ives
Grace - 1807-1809 St Ives
Mary Ann bp. 30th September 1810 St Ives Independent
William bp. 19th June 1812 St Ives
Samuel - 1814-1815 St Ives
Selina - bp. 10th March 1816 St Ives
Emma bp. 5th September 1824 St Ives
Joseph Edward bp. 5th September 1824 St Ives
It has been previously worked out that William (1812) was married to someone named Elizabeth sometime before 1836.
Elizabeth was born about 1815 at St George, Middlesex and it is possible that her maiden name was WELCH given a son named John Welch Quick.
William died in the Stepheny/Bethnal Green R.D. of London in 1880.
Until now that is all that I have ever been able to find out about this family.
They are not found in the 1841 Census - at least not in Cornwall.
NOW - there is a particular baptism at St Ives that I am now sure belongs to this family.
Samuel s/o Edward (baker) and Elizabeth Quick bp. 27th February 1818 St Ives
There is no record of Edward Quick having married a second time so it is unclear why the name Elizabeth was recorded as the mother.
And there is no other Edward Quick who was a baker at St Ives.
Hopefully Lannanta will agree with my conclusion?
--------------------------------------------------------------
I can now happily say that I have tracked down one more member of this family!
William HEIGHWAY married Elizabeth Trennerry QUICK
St. Geo. Southwk R.D. 1839 March Qtr Vol 4 Page 323
They can be found in the 1851 Census Colledge St, St Pancras with eight children.
The first of these children was age 22 in 1851 which means that this must have been a second marriage for William Heighway.
Mary Ann d/o Edward and Grace Quick married James Styles in 1838 at North Aylesford R.D. in Kent.
Trenerry was used as a middle name for the four children I have found.
I will continue to work on this family and see if I can track down the rest.
