While you are sniffing your way around Wales have a look at the Conning family in the 1881 census which has a son Morgan Quick in it. I bet you work out who he and his brother and mother was a lot faster than I did ;D

I was only 'sniffing around' Wales in response to your discussion about William and Robert! Maria Grose, widow of Andrew Quick, married James Conning Pontypridd R.D. December Qtr 1875 5 minutes ;D Andrew Quick age 27 died Pontypridd R.D. December Qtr 1872. The question now is - if Andrew died in 1872 and Maria remarried in 1875 then who was the father of son John J Quick who was age 6 at the 1881 Census? Best I start updating a few itesm following these last couple of days work. I hope to have another little problem for you soon. CT

While we are more or less discussing the family of Robert Monday and Elizabeth Quick:- In 1861 younger sons Richard and James were lodging at Menheniot with the family of John and Jane Odgers. Menheniot is also within the Liskeard District. At St Hilary in 1861 is Elizabeth Quick age 61 and born Redruth. She is mother-in-law to James HOSKING whose wife Elizabeth was born at St Hilary about 1826. I would suggest that this may be the wife of Robert Monday Quick with their daughter (and eldest child) Elizabeth now married to James Hosking. Remember that Elizabeth was nee GOLDSWORTHY from Redruth. A look at the 1851 Census will confirm that the above is correct. In 1851 Robert and Elizabeth Quick had with them a visitor - James HOSKING, age 4. This is the eldest son of James and Elizabeth Hosking.

This is exactly how I have interpreted the census information.
