G'day Tony - not really sure about that but after a very brief look I have found a 'possibility'.
On the 1:25,000 Pathfinder Series Ordnance Survey Map SW 33/43 - St Ives and Penzance (North) we have the following which are just Southeast of the Air Traffic Control Station.
409323 Middle Tregerest
Due East is Lower Tregerest Due South is Higher Tregerest
As I say - a possibility - but the names are certainly similar.
AHA!
Looking at the 'Reprint of the first edition of the one-inch ORDNANCE SURVEY of England and Wales' - Sheet 95 Penzance I have found something that appears to confirm the above.
Due South of Morvah, Southeast of Lanyon and slightly North of West from Penhale you will find TREGERRAS DOWNS.
This is Northeast of St Just Village and also slightly Southeast of Chywoon Quoit and Bosullow.

Thanks folks....should be able to find it after all that. I'm using a 1:50000 scale map, possibly not detailed enough......It's old enough though....only cost £1/2/6...! Tony M

It is most probably Sancreed but I had enough trouble locating the sites without trying to place them in respect to the Parish boundaries of St Just and Sancreed!

On the 1:50,000 Ordnance Survey (Landranger Series) Sheet 203 - Land's End, The Lizard & The Isles of Scilly you will find TREGEREST at co-ordinates 408323
Just follow the A3071 from Newbridge towards St Just and you will find it to the North before you get to the B3318.

Hello Tony, Tregerest is on the Penzance St. Just/Pendeen road just after Newbridge and is in Sancreed parish. Here is a link to photos of gravestones in Tregerest Methodist Chapel cemetery: www.hattam.co.uk/gallery/Tregerest There are a few farms - Higher Tregerest, Middle Tregerest, Lower Tregerest and houses. Regards, Mary

Thanks folks....found it. OK Sarch/Malcolm, I thought it might be in Sancreed 'cause that is where I placed this thread, but was it actually in Sancreed or could it have been somewhere else, that was my problem. William Furze Miner of Chapel Court marries Elizabeth Williams of Tregerras (Sancreed Marriages 7 April 1860). Tony M
