Just trying to fill in some great cousins information and came across something I need confirmed.
John Trevarthen (1799 - 1864) married Ann Yates (1803 - ?)
They had many children of which one was Charles Frederick Trevarthen born Jan 17, 1845 in St Erth, Cornwall
I found him in the 1851 and 1861 Census information but could not find him in the 1871 census. I then did a Burial Search on the OPC site and came up with this:
Burials - Details of record ID 490235: Parish: St Erth Date: 19-Nov 1867
Name: Charles Trevethick TREVARTHEN Age: 22 Residence: St Erth Transcriber: Darcel Kornichuk Register Notes: Transcriber Notes:
I was wondering if their is a obituary or someone could take a look at the death certificate and see how Trevethick might actually be Frederick.
Thanks

Hello The only way for the Death Certificate to be checked is by purchasing it but I think you meant the entry in the Parish Register? It would be a good idea to contact the OPC for St Erth, Dee Kornichuk, who was also the person that transcribed the entry you are querying. I know as an OPC myself, that some of us still have the scans of the original documents and are able to check...... Not sure if Dee has, but Dee will be happy to help you if she can. The contact information for Dee can be found here cornwall-opc.org/Par_new/e_g/erth_st.phpThis will give you both the St Erth web page and Dee's email contact. Checking the entry against Freebmd www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.plit looks that it may well have been Charles F Trevarthen as there is an entry for Deaths, December Qtr 1867, Charles F TREVARTHEN, Age 22, District Penzance, Vol 5c, Page 184. Hope this helps and puts you on track to follow up Best regards HeatherC
