Evening Things seem a bit quiet so I thought I would quicken things up Anyway: In the 1841 census Robert Quick, joiner, born about 1801 is married to Mary - probably Mary Landow/Sandow and they are living in Tregenna Place, St Ives. Mary is likely to have died in the September quarter of 1843. In the 1851 census and 1861 census Robert, joiner, born on or just before 1800, is married to Martha - probably Martha Pearce - and they were living in Wolverhampton in 1851 and back in St Andrews St, St Ives in 1861 - Martha is from Lelant. She is likely to be the daughter of James Pearce and Mary Edwards. In the 1871 census Robert has died, probably in the September quarter of 1863, while wife Martha is alive and recorded as a widow. Therefore Robert must be the son of James Quick and Jane Michel. Oh yes, the clincher - when Robert married the spinster Martha Pearce, daughter of James Pearce, on the 30th April 1844 at Uny Lelant he was a widower, a joiner, living at St Ives, and the son of James Quick also a joiner. Although I have not confirmed the death of Robert you are quite right in his identification.
He first married Mary Sandow at St Ives 18th July 1824.
Her death is reported in the West Briton 6th October 1843:-
At St. Ives, on the 28th ultimo, the infant son of Capt. G. Anthony, of the schooner "Reward," aged 3 years; the wife of Mr. Thomas Quick, aged 30 years; and the wife of Mr. Robert Quick, aged 41 years.
Robert then married Martha Pearce as you say.
There appear to have been no children to the first marriage but two daughters to Martha.
Martha Pearce Quick born at St Ives about 1844 married David Russell at St Ives 28th December 1862.
Mary Jane Quick born about 1847 at Manchester, Lancashire.
