I live in Wales but my line goes back with the St Ives families - Trevarthen, Gyles, Paul, Paynter and Harry (so far).

Hello gamo16. I have Paynters in my tree who were also from St. Ives. They married into my Young family when Martha Paynter (d/o John and Elizabeth) married James Young about 1826. Coincidentally, their son Tonkin Young went to Wales as a grocer (Glamorgan). One of their daughters, Elizabeth Tonkin Young, married William Paynter, Mariner. Martha Paynter was a Methodist by the way. If this matches in with your family, I'd love to hear from you as I have a bit more on the Young/Paynter lines. Loolah

Welcome again to you both and it is good to see some discussion beginning here on your families of interest.
Let me know which GYLES etc. you are interested in and I will help as much as I can.
