I need some help or thoughts.
James James died 13th October 1880, Narioka, aged 58 years. Parents Richard James and Honor James. Married Mary Parsons in 1844. (Information from death certificate.)
Richard James married Honor Curnow in Breage 21st Oct, 1815 (IGI).
The Curnow name is mainly around the Penwith area. I found Honor Curnow born in Zennor in 1793 with John as her father.
With Richard James, there is one born in Breage in 1794 (I found a death for Richard James whose ages matches this birth) also one born 1786 in Germoe.
Mary Parsons died 31st March 1896, Elmore, aged 71 years. Parents John Parsons and Jane Parsons nee Tonkin. (information from death certificate).
Mary Parsons was born 1825 in Madron. John Parsons (son of Robert and Elizabeth Bennets (nee Johns) and Jane Tonkin.
I have a bit of information but am having trouble finding who Honor Curnow belongs too and also Jane Tonkin.
Any thoughts – Thanks
Jenny

Hi Jenny - let's see if we can help you out a litt. There is a problem initially as I cannot find Richard or, particularly, Honor in the 1841 or 1851 Census. This of course would have given us some reasonable clues to work with. However I think I have found something that will point us in the right direction. As you say Mary PARSONS was baptised at Madron 14th August 1825 (of Tregavarah) d/o John and Jane. In the 1851 Census James and Mary are living at Treen in Zennor with children Honer J age 5, John age 4, Elizabeth age 2 and James age 1 month. The first three children were born at Germoe whilst the youngest, James, was born at Zennor. Whilst not set in concrete, this is reasonable evidence of some connection with the Parish of Zennor. In this case the most likely connection would seem to be through Honor CURNOW. That would then suggest that Honor CURNOW was:- bp. 10th March 1793 Zennor d/o John and Honor (nee COCK) John and Honor married 10th May 1790 at Zennor As I say this is not 'concrete proof' but is certainly suggestive. From checking my database I can find only three Honor Curnows who could possibly be the right one and of those the most likely is certainly the above. Jane TONKIN might be a different matter. CT

Hi CT,
I must admit that I did print out the 1851 and 1861 census for James James and Mary James (Parsons). Yes it had, son, James as being born in Zennor, but I didn’t put 2 and 2 together.
In 1861 there is another daughter Elizabeth born Germoe, then William and Mary born in Camborne.
So now I will have a look at Zennor and Towednack for the Curnow and Cock connections.
I can find three children to John Curnow and Honor – John 1790, Honor 1793 and William 1797.
Thanks CT

Jenny - those are the first three children to John and Honor.
I also have Andrew, Maria, Mary, John and Elizabeth all baptised Zennor except for Elizabeth at Gulval.
John Curnow was baptised 8th March 1772 at Towednack son of John and Mary (nee RENODEN).
John son of John and Alice (nee WHITE) and then John son of John and Honour (nee NINNES).
Honour COCK I have not yet tried to trace.

CT Had a look at the Curnow info -
John Curnow married Mary Renoden 29 Jane 1765, Towednack John Curnow married Alice White 30/12/1742, Gwythian John Curnow married Honor Ninnes 13/1/1700 Towednack.
Still looking into the Cock name in Zennor, info found so far –
William Cock died 1813 aged 59. Mary Cock died 1815 aged 44. Henry Cock and Elizabeth Eddy married 1773. Grace Cock married 1799, to Nathaniel Eddy. Witnesses William Cock and John Carnow.
Thanks David will be having a look into Roger Cock.
