Hi to all
I've just joined this website on the recommendation of a contact from Genies Reunited. I now live in this wonderful county and it has inspired me to improve my knowledge of my Cornish roots.
Having just taken an interest in genealogy I find that my late start has deprived me of the opportunity to quiz my parents' and grand parents’ generations. I have been truly warmed by the reception I have received from my fellow researches, and in particular this site, I hope that with a little help I will be able to turn family stories and folk law into facts.
As you can see from the ‘Surname Interests’ my research is any connection to the THOMAS FAMILY around St Just, there appears to be an awful lot of them, but who’s connected to who?
Thanks for the Welcome
Biggles

Hi Biggles. Having only joined the forum myself a few days ago, I have been overwhelmed by the warmth and assistance - I realise I am particularly lucky to be the milestone 300th member! As very much an amateur at this, I found dabbling in FreeBMD & FreeCen, West Penwith Resources and Online Parish Clerk kept me quiet for weekends at a time, although you probably already know of these. I'm looking at my Curnows at the minute, but my main man married a Thomas. I don't know much about the Thomas clan which I guess is wide-ranging. My line came to the St Ives/Towednack/Lelant area where all my other research is going on, from St Buryan c 1790s, so in due course I shall try and get on to exploring Mr Thomas further. I can't cope with too many lines to explore at once, unlike the impressive experts round here! Best of luck - and envious of you actually living in Cornwall! Sue
