While searching for the missing family William Stevens Quick family and his daughter Wilmot Quick in particular in the 1861 census - I came accross this message in the James Quick household in Trevega - in Free CenSearch - the online census search engine - surname uncertain.
1861 Census Piece: RG9/1590 Place: Penzance -Cornwall Enumeration District: 13 Civil Parish: Towednack Ecclesiastical Parish: - Folio: 103 Page: 12 Schedule: 45 Address: Treveija -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Surname First name(s) Rel Status Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks QUICK James Head M M 67 Farmer 90 Acres Cornwall - Towednack QUICK Mary Wife M F 64 Farmers Wife Cornwall - Paul QUICK James Son U M 33 Farmers Son Cornwall - Towednack QUICK Willmot Jane Dau U F 26 Dress Maker Cornwall - Towednack QUICK Elizabeth Dau U F 24 Draper's Assistant Cornwall - Towednack QUICK Eliza Dau U F 21 Draper's Assistant Cornwall - Towednack QUICK John Glason Son U M 16 Farmers Son Cornwall - Towednack AVON James Quick Grnson - M 3 Cornwall - St Ives Surname uncertain

I would agree with that also. James Quick Troon ended up in New Zealand and married Florence Amelia Legge in 1883 - somewhere there.

Re James Troon & Ann Quick marriage on BMD James Troon is easy to find and the scan is legible. On the BMD site Ann Quick however is under QUICH and the scan is not at all legible. (unless I was having a bad day? ) The marriage is also on the OPC site with the correct surname spelling for Ann Quick. I have James Troon and Ann Quick both dying in New Zealand - but I have no death dates Sarch

for Sep 1857 Quarter on BMD these names below are also listed in the Searchengine under QUICH - some might correctly be QUICH but I suspect most are probably QUICK

I believe that James Troon settled in Invercargill in New Zealand. James Troon died in 1898 aged 64 years, and Ann died in 1901 aged 72 years. They are both buried in the East Road Cemetery at Invercargill.
James Quick Troon died in 1939 in New Zealand but I do not know where he was living at the time. I do not have a death entry for his wife Florence. I did note that there was a death in 1921 of a 21 year old female by the name of Constance Glasson Troon who at an educated guess would have been the daughter of James Quick Troon and Florence and named for her maternal great grandmother.

Hi
There is a Troon who has reseached the family for a number of years and apparently has all the NZ descendents of Thomas and Florence (marr. St Pauls presbyterian Church, Invercargill. 17/2/1883)
The tree is in Rootsweb ( google all the names of Florence and Thomas) though I could PM you the name of the present researcher.
Cheers

Sarch - I would doubt it. Mary Sandow WASLEY was the daughter of George WASLEY - as recorded in the Parish Register Transcript. Mary Sandow QUICK was baptised at Towednack 15th July 1832 d/o William QUICK and Elizabeth (nee SANDOW). She married John NICHOLAS at Lelant 2nd July 1857. CT
