I have spent a frustrating few hours trying to find the family of William Stevens Quick (bap 1830), his wife Elizabeth (nee Nicholls), Eliza, William, Wilmot and Mary Ann in the 1861 census.
I have William in 1841 and 1851 at Trowan. Just after that he married. Just before the 1861 census he had a daughter Wilmot and he was at Towednack. Just after 1861 he had a son James and he was at Lelant.
Maybe somebody else is better at finding him than my efforts realised.

Lannanta - I guess that you mean you are unable to find him in the 1871 Census and beyond? I think you will find that he died in 1869. FreeBMD Penzance R.D. 1869 June Qtr Vol 5c Page 214 - age 39. No, I do have the entry in 1871 for the widow Elizabeth and a number of the children. I also have William in 1851 just before his marriage, and I do have his death in 1869.
But I cannot find the family in the 1861 census when they must have been living somewhere between Towednack or Lelant - or maybe they had taken a trip somewhere.

I now see what you mean - cannot seem to find them anywhere in the UK so might have to look at Immigration records to see if they left the Country for a year or so.
They do not appear to have been in Wales either.

Hi Lannanta
I checked through unidentified surnames in 1861 Census but did not turn anything up. Also did a search just under Wilmot without a surname entered incase the family were listed under a different surname but did not find anything.
What I did find interesting is that there are not as many Quicks in Trowan in 1861 compared to 1841 and 1851.

Looking in the 1861 Census Index under Q - There were not that many Wilmot Quicks in the 1861 census for Cornwall area - only 6 in total. Your Wilmot would have been about between aboo 2 or 3 years.
Wilmot aged 51 piece no. 1593 folio 129 Wilmot aged 40 piece no. 1590 folio 38 Wilmot aged 21 piece no. 1589 folio 122 Wilmot aged 20 piece no. 1590 folio 109 Wilmot aged 14 piece no. 1590 folio 2 Wilmot Jane aged 26 piece no. 1590 folio 103
