Looking at the 1841 census, there is a John whose age is rounded to 80 years living with a Kity Quick whose age is rounded to 55 years.
This may be the deceased gardener, father of Sampson, baptised in 1758 and Kity is his daughter Christian baptised in 1782.

Reckon you are right there but the icing on the cake would have been that Christian stayed put! In 1851 she is living with brother Benedict at Bailey's Lane. But no problem and I am quite happy with the identification. CT

I think that the identification of the John and Christian Quick was correct.
On the certified copy of the entry of death, dated 28th February 1845, at St Ives, John was said to be 87 years old and a shoemaker by trade. The informant looked to be B. Quick - probably his son Benedict.

Lannanta - undoubtedly so. Nice to have theories proved correct. CT
