First of all I would like to apologize to Sarch for hijacking your thread ;D , this was not my intention. I do not know yet who they are ... I have so many leads going at this time all over my family tree. I concur with you on this, I to have seen that 1841 Census entry with Honor Branwell ... It is quite possible a birth out of marriage. At least I know who the mother is Susan Carter and I probably won't find out who the father is, as the Branwell middle name is most likely carried from the Maiden name of prior generation. Susan Carter's Marriage to Malachi Hingston was his second marriage ... quite the age difference between the two I do say . Thanks for the help with this ... I will summarize this on another thread ... perhaps in the St Ives section of the Forums here. By the way, what is the IGI site? Is this another online resource available for use?

Hi www.familysearch.orgThis is the website of the records collected over the world by the Church of the Latter Day Saints, or Mormons. They contain a large percentage of the parish entries for the churches in Cornwall, but not all, so you have to be careful. Also some of the entries (usually all in CAPITALS) are taken from the registers whereas other entries (normally in lowercase) are submitted by members - and are regularly misleading. Lannanta

Don't give up that easily! Whilst the Branwell name 'may' come from a line on Susan Carter's side the use of a surname as a middle name is often a reference to the father. It may also be possible to find out the name of the father through the Bastardy Bonds. CT
