Hi Guys,
Cornishmaid and I have been trying to resolve a problem we have/had with Grace Thomas of St Just who married William Jelbard/Gilbert 1776. I had this Grace down as being the daughter of Thomas Thomas and Grace Benning/Benny however Cornishmaid rightly pointed out that Philimores records Grace Thomas and Willam Jelbard/Gilbert as both being of St Just in Penwith. So I have narrowed it down to the following, starting from a basic IGI search:-
1. GRACE THOMAS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 28 JUL 1740 Saint Just In Penwith, Cornwall, England
daughter of Charles Thomas
2. GRACE THOMAS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 30 APR 1746 Saint Just In Penwith, Cornwall, England
daughter of Charles Thomas
3. GRACE THOMAS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 20 AUG 1748 Saint Just In Penwith, Cornwall, England
daughter of James Thomas and Grace
4. GRACE THOMAS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 02 FEB 1750 Saint Just In Penwith, Cornwall, England
daughter of Gabriel Thomas and Prudence
5. GRACE THOMAS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 30 OCT 1752 Saint Just In Penwith, Cornwall, England
daughter of Charles Thomas and Mary
Presuming that it be the same Charles Thomas through the records.... we have three candidate couples:-
Charles Thomas and Mary
found Charles Thomas married to Mary Question in Menheniot 1746. Possible.
Gabriel Thomas and Prudence
Gabriel Thomas and Prudence Taylor married in 1736 in St Just
James Thomas and Grace
James Thomas and Grace Thomas married in 1748 St Just.

Does anyone have any info or connections to these families?
