One more for luck.
William Quick, husband of Wilmot Quick died in 1845. He left a sum of money to his grandson John, son of James.
Now I have never had a wife for James, and the only real option that I have got is Grace Richards, marriage in 1816 in Zennor. Then John baptised 7 Dec 1823 at Zennor.
Would you agree?

That is exactly as I have it! We probably need to look further into this one also but not right now due to a few other pressing problems! CT

CT - while you are in thinking mode. You may not have seen this back then?
I believe also that the grandson John may well have been the John who was living with his uncle William at Phillack in the 1841 and 1851 census?
I think James may have died in his 40's at Zennor?

James Quick of Gulval age 47 buried 9th April 1837 at Zennor
I meant to try and follow up on this one back then but never did get back to it.
I have not identifed Grace Richards and currently have nothing more but the marriage.
I also have nothing further on son John but you may well be right about the Census entries.

It appears as if James of Gulval was the son of William and Wilmot Quick. He is the one most likely to have married Grace Richards and their son to have been that John referred to in the will. James buried in 1837 and Grace likely to have been the death entry in the Penzance district in 1839.
This would leave John without his parents and a good reason why he would end up living with his uncle William in the 1841 and 1851 census.

That would make sense. I think I had looked at that death record but was not prepared to assign it to Grace without some further detail - like age for instance. But I had also wanted to put some effort into checking later records in case Grace turned up elsewhere and perhaps remarried. But at this point I certainly tend to agree with you. CT
