Hi
As a new member I have been invited to identify what Surname I am interested in. So Harvey, Harvie, Havye possibly Hervey.
The earliest variant I have is Abednego Harvye 1650. His children were recorded as Harvie. By 1695 it was spelt Harvey.
Any info would be welcome.

My Harvey connections are a lot later and I haven't done a lot of research into this family. I do know that Harvey can also be of Breton origin, Ervé is a popular name in the area after the interesting saint who, amongst other things, baptised a wolf and rode on it after it had eaten his donkey!
Might be worth looking around for some Breton information if you go way, way back.

Hello Mick and welcome!
I too am interested in the HARVEY name and can trace my line back through Paul parish to James Harvey who married Margaret Hullah (Holla) at Paul on 29 Sep 1714. However, I do not know where James came from - maybe from the next parish of St. Buryan, so perhaps you have him in your records.
The Paul parish Harvey line goes thus:
James Harvey (bapt. 26 Dec 1715) s/o the above married Joan Trevorrowe at Paul on 27 Feb 1753; James Harvey (bapt. Paul 27 Jan 1754) married Jane Leah at Paul on 15 Jan 1774; James Harvey (bapt. Paul 18 Mar 1781) married Jane Oats at Paul on 26 Dec 1801; Abednego aka Benjamin Harvey (bapt. Paul 6 April 1806) married Jane McClary at Paul on 18 April 1830; James Thomas Harvey (bapt. Paul 28 April 1840) married Mary Ann Trembath at Paul on 31 Oct 1863; William James Harvey (bapt. Paul 15 May 1864) married Elizabeth Simons at Paul on 17 March 1889; William James Harvey (born Mousehole 17 July 1889) married Minnie Batten Drew at Paul on 8 Dec 1912.
The latter two were my maternal grandparents.
All the best,
Mary

Hi:
I'm new to this board but I have a Harvey connection by marriage to my Hosken family:
Ann Hosken married Richard Harvey on December 1, 1817 in St. Just in Penwith.
