If anybody is still happy to work on the Quick surname then yes please I could do with some help. ;D I have Amey Quick b.1692 St Ives married to Charles Jenkins. Her father was Richard Quick b.1663 Zennor and her mother was Amey Nicholas b.1668 St Ives. Amey Nicholas was previously married to Robert Bennatts b.1670. Robert and Amey were married 9.10.1694 St Ives. The Bennatts line is where my line comes from after mixing with the Boyns. Richard b.1663 father was James Quick b.c1643 who married Jane Unkown. James b.c1643 father was Thomas Quick b.c1623 who married a Zenobia. That is the info I have but not proven. Thankyou

The brief information that is currently known is as follows.
Richard QUICK was baptised at Zennor 13th March 1663 (Zennor BTs)
Parents
James QUICK m. Jane KNIGHT alias ROBERTE at Zennor 13th October 1649
The previous entry to this in Phillimore is:-
William KNIGHT, junr., m. Honour CHEKEMBRA alias WILLIAM [______] 1649
I believe it probable that Jane and William were siblings given that James QUICK is named as a brother-in-law in the Will of William's widow Honor.
I also believe that the surname is ROBERTS but cannot yet explain he use of the name KNIGHT.
The following notes are included in my database regarding the father of these two:-
"It is not proved that this man was 'William Roberts' and it is not known from whence he came. His son was married as 'William Knight, junr.' in 1649 and later that same year his daughter married as 'Jane Knight, alias Roberte'. William and Jane are linked as siblings by the Will of William's wife Honour who named James Quick as her brother-in-law. William junior wrote his Will as 'William Roberts' and the name 'Knight' appears to be recorded only once more when his daughter Grace was married. Phillimore transcribed the entry from the Parish Register as 'Richard Perry & Grace Knight' but it was recorded in the Bishop's Transcript as 'Davd Berryman and Grace Roberts'. In 1662 William Roberts sen. and William Roberts jun. were each taxed on one hearth in the Hearth Tax. In 1664 William Roberts jun. was again taxed on one hearth but the elder man seems to have been deceased as his former home is then recorded as 'ex the house void but Davi Udy owner'."
There is some dispute of James QUICK and when he was born.
He was certainly the son of Thomas and Zenobia QUICK and was buried at Zennor 3rd November 1704.
His Will was made earlier that same year and he was described as 'yeoman of Mill Downs, Zennor'.
In Matthews History of St Ives etc. there is mention of a James Quick of Zennor, yeoman, age 48, in 1680 in reference to a deposition by Rosewall. This would place his birth about 1631 or 1632 in which case he could only have been about 17 when he married.
Another researcher estimates his date of birth as about 1624 but I can see no way of proving either date and need rely on 'Matthews' as a 'guide'.
