Thought this may be of use to a researcher of the Trevellick family from Redruth. Best regards HeatherC From The Miniing Gazette, Houghton County MichiganNEWS ITEM 1888 September 20th Thursday - Captain Richard TREVELLICK, spoke to a large audience in Germans Hall, Hancock, Friday morning. He gave a talk on how conditions can be improved for labor by government help. He spoke from 20 years of studying the problem. He was born in Redruth, Cornwall, England, and came to America when he was young. At one time he was foreman of the second largest shipyard in America and for many years he was a sea Captain. He is 59 years old. The reporter on his talk objected to his coarse language and his praising the Democratic Party in an area where the Republican Party is in the majority.
