COMING HOME
Bury me,please, in Ludgvan earth Near where I used to play Outside the two-room school which serves Another use today.
Where many of my folk have lain For centuries at rest My ashes will, I humbly pray, In that same earth be blest.
I shall not hear the sea-birds cry, I shall not feel the rain. Enough to lie in Ludgvan earth: I have come home again.
Joseph Henry Martin, 1914-1998, buried with wife Ruth and parents Joseph and Sarah, Ludgvan.
Copyright 2008 D K Martin.
Joe wrote several "versions" of this that I have in manuscript. D.
