I have some marriages of OATS men to JENNINGS women in the mid to late 1700's and have some basic lineage on the JENNINGS family. I descend from one line. I suspect there are other lines as well. The very famous line is the introduction of the name Francis from the JENNINGS clan into the OATS clan. Francis OATS (3) became one of the most famous and wealthiest miners of Cornish history having been involved in the diamond industry in South Africa.
Has anyone done work on the JENNINGS family because I am trying to identify another marriage of John Semmens (Simons) OATS to Johanna JENNINS in 1817. Both born about 1796 and the marriage was in Ludgvan. I believe this is the same family as this couple also had a son named Francis and they lived in Pendeen. There is a record of Johanna JENNINGS bapt 1797 in St Austell to Francis which I believe is the one as the OATS family was also there and John Semmens OATS was also baptised there.
