Hello again Ian
I have been working with Andrew and Honour THOMAS and their children up to 1758 where son Andrew was baptised in Lelant although most of the daughters were baptised in St Ives.
There appears to be a break in the children then baptisms start again with Andrew and Mary MAJOR in 1765. I do not have any records that tell me if maybe Honour died and Mary is a second wife as I do not seem to be able to find a second Andrew. Are you able to enlighten me here?
Regards
Allen

G'day Mate,
At this point in time I believe we are dealing with two different Andrew Quicks.
I believe, at this stage, that the Andrew who married Honor THOMAS was baptised St Ives 5th March 1723 as son of Andrew and Mary (nee OSBORN).
The Andrew who married Mary MAJOR was bapised 27th December 1737 at St Ives as son of James and Mary (nee CURNOW).
This second Andrew left a Will in 1806.
I am still lacking St Ives records that may help me further but I am as sure as I can be about the information I have. This has been based on conversations with other Quick researchers along with copies of Wills and any other documentation I have been able to find.
My suggestion would be that you flag any of this data as 'requiring confirmation' but, with work yet to be done, I am 'reasonably' happy that it is correct.
I do not want to mislead you or anyone else here so please bear in mind that 'further work is required'.
Andrew, s/o Andrew and Honor, is (I believe) the man who married Ann OATS at Lelant 7th April 1788.
Andrew, s/o Andrew and Mary (Major) married Elizabeth STEVENS at St Ives 17th September 1798 and was buried at St Ives 25th December 1836 at the age of 67.
As mentioned - I still have a bit of work to do on this but am, at the moment, happy with what I have - with questions still to be answered.)

I think that I have got a similar issue with Matthew QUICK. My records show that Matthew married Elizabeth PEARCE in 1743 and they had three children before Elizabeth died in 1748. Then, of course there is Matthew QUICK who married Margaret QUICK in 1750. In this case is this the same Matthew?

I do not currently know what became of the first Matthew (m. Elizabeth PEARCE) but all indications are that he was the son of John QUICK and Ann (nee VIBERT). The second Matthew you mention (m. Margaret QUICK in 1750) was the son of Isaac QUICK and Susanna (nee OATES). Once again - this is all to the best of my knowledge after the years of research and dealing with other people tracing the Quick family. To this date I believe the data to be correct but I am willing and happy to have corrections should anyone have further information for me to work on. To repeat - this, at the moment, is my best scenario given available information, Wills, BDM records, PRs etc. The QUICK family must always be a 'work in progress' situation. Once again - hope I have been of help. Ian
