Elcaner Lanion married Honor 6th Oct 1666 at Madron. They had a son Bernard baptised 1670 Madron (father is called Eleana in baptism register). The will of William Lanyon yeoman 25 May 1674 mentions Eleana but not the relationship between them. Brothers? father/son?
William Lanyon (yeoman) of Bossolow Veor, husband of Jane (who died 1689 Madron.) William's will mentions sons: Hugh, Thomas & William and daughter Jane and wife Jane. Also mentions Margaret wife of Thomas Tonking and Mary wife of Edward Primrose. William's married daughters?
William's will mentions Mary daughter of Eleana Lanyon.
David Lanyon (d 1641) lived at Little Bossolow, Madron and also had a son called Barnard. Is David related to William and Eleana?
Can you help with any information about any of them and their relationship to one another? Is the name Elcaner or Eleana? is it short for something else? Thanks

Not a name I have ever come across but, just from some idle thinking, could it perhaps be a bastardization of 'Alexander' by any chance?

I've had a look at the original register on the FamilySearch website and it looks like 'Elcana' to me. Seems to be a Biblical name, also Elkhanah, who was the husband of Hannah in the Books of Samuel.
