William Paynter married Eliza Roskruge in 1812 in St Ives.
At the moment I have the suspicion that Eliza became a widow and married William Berriman around 1825, so before I get too engrossed I wonder if anybody has already looked into this relationship?

Yes, that is exactly what I concluded back in 2011. Eliza could sign her own name and a comparison of signiatures from the two marriage records indicates the same person made the bride's signiature.
Also, Eliza Berriman, wife of Wm Berriman of St Ives, was buried at Barnoon Cemetery 7th December 1864 at the age of 75. The baptism record of Eliza Roskruge (daughter of Anthony Roskruge and Margery Purchase) shows she was born at St Ives 8th December 1788 and baptised 6th January 1789.
My research back then indicated William Berriman was baptised at St Ives in 1790 to James Berriman and Ann Watty and that he had been previously married to Mary Daniel at St Ives in 1814. He was buried at Barnoon Cemetery 4th April 1877.
I have not looked at this family for quite some time so if anything is found that might place doubt on any of the above I would certainly be interested.
