Does anybody know anything of this organization (Global Curnow) ? If so can they give me a brief summary.
It would appear to require me to join Facebook to learn of it . I have avoided joining Facebook since forever.
I need to know enough to make a decision on joining up.

I don't do Facebook as such either. But I am in a few Genealogy Groups which I find particularly useful eg Rules of Cornwall and Beyond, Using DNA for Genealogy Aust & NZ, FTDNA-BiGY. No pics of what you are eating for breakfast and no friends. I looked for Global Curnow but found nothing by that name, and not anything similar. Where might you have seen the name?

I've never heard of it either but if it is on Facebook I would be personally very wary. I refuse to have anything whatsoever to do with that particular medium which I consider a blight on humanity and a conduit for criminals and predators.

Where did I hear of GLOBAL CURNOW ? From an email my brother got.
"Dydh da!
My name is Alice, and I'm working with Gary from the Institute of Cornish Studies in Penryn (University of Exeter) on a project called "Global Kernow". …. It is early days right now, but are looking to mirror associations such as Global Scotland and Global Wales. '' Aiming to use a website and social media, we have a facebook page, called Global Kernow, and have talked of setting up a facebook group for people to chat and share various interests around Cornwall, and we are also going to create an instagram. "
It seemed genuine enough, I just don't like Facebook

I'm another one who Does Not Do Facebook, and I don't think anyone will be changing my mind on that... That brief description you've quoted is a little all-embracing & vague. Very happy to chat Curnows, being one myself ; general Cornish matters, as in Kernow that I think could be the subject of this Facebook page, is a whole 'nother thing! Sue

Global Curnow is an easily found on Facebook simply by putting the two words into the search facility at the top of the page.
From the above quotation you can see that it is indeed driven by campus at Penryn. From a quick look at the page I saw a number of excellent links to various Cornish studies and also a number of interesting photos and links to a number of activities promoting Cornish heritage.
