Snydly - for FRY I think you should add TRY.
Dependent on the handwriting these can often be interchanged and in Cornwall you will find that the name is more often than not actually TRY.

Hi just wondering if your Richards family from St Ives includes a Mary Richards (C1834 St Ives) who married Nicholas Davey Smith (b.1833 St Ives)?

G'day Ozwall - although I don't have him in my database I would be guessing that Nicholas Davy Smith is the son of Nicholas Smith and Mary Bryant who were married at St Ives 17th February 1823. Nicholas Smith was baptised at Paul 25th December 1798 son of Thomas Smith and Mary Davy. Looking at my database and it would appear there has been some discussion on part of this family in the past. Again I do not yet have a baptism for Thomas Smith but he named a daughter Mary Achim Smith which leads me to believe he was probably the son of Joshua Smith and Mary Achim who were married at Kenwyn 25th June 1750. I am gradually gathering more records for my collection so it is possible that I might soon be able to locate some of the details that are currently missing. Nothing immediate I am afraid but hopefully in the not too distant future. CT

Back to my Cornish Roots ... This time I am reviewing my pedigree with more detail and expense. I had found some mistakes in my Ancestry tree which I will update my original posts to help stem the damage that other might have picked up from my research.
As well I have a large Box of photos to scan ... lots of faces I do not recognize so ... puts on my Sherlock Holmes Hat. Time to get to it !!

Great to hear from you again Snydly. I'm very happy to hear from someone who is not only willing to look for errors but also willing to make changes to their work. And it is especially pleasing to know that any changes will be 'advertised'. I will look forward to seeing what you have to offer and, as always, will try to help where possible. CT
