Well done Heather! Very interesting and most useful and the site appears to be well laid out. I have only had a brief look around with most interest for the moment on the gravestones. And I note with interest the information (or lack of! ) on the gravestone of William Lawry and his family. Lack of information? There is no mention of his wife Elizabeth (nee Quick) anywhere on this stone! I find that most unusual. CT

Thank you CT and White CT....... Re William Lawry's gravestoneI agree that that does seem odd there is no mention of his wife........ there certainly was room around the sides for more inscriptions....... but I would have thought William's wife would have been on the body of it? The only thing I can think of is..... this particular stone (that the engraving was on) looked a lot newer than the grave surround and base (base and sides were rather weather worn)....... So, was the top, which appeared to be black granite, a later addition to repair/replace the original and Elizabeth's name was missed off the new carving? Could be a possibility? I may be returning in October, and if I do I will check again for you. Best regards HeatherC
