Journey of John Wesley - From page 70 "Wesley Goes to Cornwall" it mentions reaching St. Ives and the locals singing under his window a ditty composed by a local gentlewoman
" Charles Wesley has come to town,
To try if he can pull the churches down"
And how the next day on his journey to Gwenapp he was met at Three Cornered Down by two to three hundred tinners that were waiting for him and then followed him onto Gwenapp where their numbers swelled to about 500. It then goes on to mention his journey and sermons held at St. Just, Sennen, St Hilary and throughout the Penwith area.
