Quicksilver - the lineage appears correct as I know it although no birth/baptism date for Benedict Quick is known.
Benedict was probably born (and therefore baptised) at Zennor or possibly Towednack. His parents were married at Gulval where the first three children were also baptised but sometime after this it appears the family moved to Towednack. Anthony Quick was baptised at Zennor 5th October 1634 so it is conceivable the family spent some time there before taking up residence at Towednack.
Registers prior to 1713 still exist for Zennor but they are in such a state that very few entries can be read and unfortunately I still do not have access to the early Zennor BTs. Towednack on the other hand is another problem altogether.
Aside from the BTs we are probably very fortunate to have anything at all from Towednack prior to 1720 and even then for the years 1706 to 1720 we have only the BTs.
The registers prior to 1720 are apparently lost but there was a Private Register kept by Christopher Michell who was Clerk of the Chapel of Towednack at the time.
The following is copied from Phillimore and is included as an introduction to the Towednack Marriages:-
Note. — The following note is taken from the second page of the earliest
existing Towednack Register : — " This Register contains Baptisms,
entered on parchment, from Sep. 24th, 1720, to Dec. 2nd, 1781 ;
Burials from Oct. 9th, 1720, to Dec. 2nd, 1781 ; also Marriages, from
Oct. 29th, 1720, to May 4th, 1754. N.B. — The Baptisms entered on
sheets of paper from Oct. 8th, 1676, to May nth, 1706 ; Marriages from
Oct. 25th, 1677, to Apr. 28th, 1705 ; and Burials from Sep. 4th, 1683, to
May 24th, 1706 were copied from a Private Register in the possession
of Christopher Michell, clerk of the Chapel of Towednack, and added
to this book by the Rev. Cornelius Cardew, D.D., Vicar of Lelant, St,
Ives, and Towednack, 1806. The Baptism [and Marriage] Register
from May nth, 1706 to Sep. 24th, 1720 cannot be found." From the
Register thus described, which is in a good state of preservation, the
entries from 1677 to 1705 have been extracted. Those which follow are
from Hardwicke's Register which has suffered much from damp and
requires to be re-bound. The entries have been extracted by the Rev.
T.Taylor and are printed by permission of the Rev. W. R. Erskine, M.A.,
Vicar of Lelant and Towednack.
I hope that gives you some idea of why it is so difficult to be certain of the Quick families prior to 1720.
BENEDICT QUICK - he was buried at St Ives 30th March 1716 but it appears nothing was done about his estate for almost a year.
An Inventory was taken 23rd January 1716 (old style) but Administration appears not to have been undertaken until 16th March 1717 (old style) - almost two years after Benedict was buried.
Admon. was granted to his widow Prudence.
As a matter of interest I noted the following entry from the St Ives Parish Register today:-
1705
Benedict Quicke marryed Prudence Varryan the younger in Towednack ye 14: August
THOMAS QUICK - certainly identified as a 'cordwainer' when he wrote his Will.
