So now we have yet another dilemma to deal with.
I can certainly see your point and tend to agree with what you say.
But the information as I have diplayed 'seems' to be fairly conclusive.
AHA - I think, to a degree, we are both correct!
The parents of Nancy Bennatts PICKERSGILL were George PICKERSGILL and Jane BENNATTS and they married at St Ives in 1798.
Yes - Thomas and Grace certainly had a daughter Ann baptised in 1780.
BUT they also had a daughter JANE baptised in 1778 and I think you might find that it was this Jane who married George PICKERSGILL.
Hence 'grandaughter' Grace DOWNING would, in fact, have been a great-grandaughter of Thomas BENNATTS.
Thus we are both correct! ;D
NOW - whilst on the subject of Thomas BENNATTS.
You mentioned his Will of 1824 - do I take it that you have a copy of this Will?
If so then I would be most interested in a copy of it - or at least a transcript if possible.
An abstract of the main points with all the vital details may even suffice.
This is a family I was looking at a few years ago and got myself a little confused with it.
I currently show a list of 15 children which may, or may not, be correct.
If you can help with this I would be very happy.

I think my initial foray into the family may have been through daughter Charity who married Matthew BERRYMAN at St Ives in 1809.
I will now update my database to include the link of Jane PICKERSGILL as a daughter of Thomas and Grace BENNATTS.
