Hello All Thought I would post this link as it may be of some use to other listers ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/homeIt's from the National Library of Australia of Australian Newspapers from 1803-1954. Beta version at present but I have already found a number of references to the CARBIS surname When you select an article from a search list you see a copy of the article as it appeared in the newspaper plus a plain text version. On the site it says (About Us) "The Australian Newspapers Beta service allows access to historic Australian newspapers digitised as part of the Australian Newspapers Digitisation Program. This is a beta service in the sense that:
It only contains a relatively small volume of data. More data will be added as it is processed, however there may be a delay before additional content is added. Functionality may be added, removed or changed at any stage. The service works best in Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2 and Safari 3.1. The service works best at a screen resolution of 1024x768."There is also a table of coverage to date. The site is down at times for updates and so on, but I think this will be a brilliant resource for those of us searching for ancestors/family that moved to Australia and just may have got their names into the local papers. Best regards HeatherC
