A little problem for me and also a few items of possible interest to others.
Firstly if anyone should be looking for the burial of CONSTANCE WARREN nee MATTHEWS baptised St Levan 5th September 1794 d/o James MATTHEWS and Elizabeth (nee TONKIN) then I can help you.
She was buried at Madron 10th April 1867 age 72
This is from the Madron OPRs where she is indexed as Constance KERROW!
My 'little problem' is now the ROWE family.
Rebecca ROWE married John TREWHELLA 24th March 1833 at Madron
I found out some time ago that she was baptised at Madron 25th April 1813 d/o Thomas and Mary ROWE of Castle Horneck
It is Thomas and Mary that I need some assistance if some kind soul would be prepared to do so.
John TREWHELLA came out to Australia in 1857 aboard the 'Indiana' as far as I can tell. (It is a little confusing as the passenger list shows him as being 'single' but I can find no other candidate.)
Rebecca followed and arrived in January 1860 aboard the 'Hilton'.
With her were daughter Mary Jane WILLIAMS and her family and also a MYSTERY LYDIA WILLIAMS, age 19, of whom I can find nothing to connect with this family.
John and Rebecca's son John remained in Cornwall having married Alice KING at Madron 1st December 1855.
Another passenger travelling with Rebecca in 1860 was her nephew James Rowe WARREN.
I since discovered that he was the son of Rebecca's sister Elizabeth who had married Richard WARREN at Madron 24th December 1842.
Richard was baptised at Paul 2nd June 1822 son of William and Constance WARREN.
I located the marriage:-
William WARREN, widower
Catherine MATHEWS
2nd April 1819 at Paul
So William was previously married!
I have also since found details of that.
William WARREN
Catherine JOSE
18th August 1805 at St Levan
From this marriage William had four children of whom, for the purpose of this excercise, only SALLY is important.
Located a burial for Catherine WARREN age 36 of Paul 2nd September 1817 at St Levan and determined this was probably William's wife.
The proof came in the 1841 Census.
William was at Landithy Higher, Madron with wife Constance and children and amongst those children was daughter SALLY then aged 33.
BTW William and Constance had a total of 12 children giving William 16 altogether!
Constance' death is recorded in FreeBMD in the June Qtr of 1867 with her age listed as 71.
In the Madron OPRs burial as above and age stated as 72.
If anyone can offer some assistance with Thomas and Mary ROWE I would be grateful.
Meanwhile I will be doing some research of my own.
