Take special note of numbers 5 and 7.

These are, in fact, for the same marriage to Mary POLMEAR and the Ludgvan event does not appear in Phillimore.

WE know it is possible that there may be other marriages (just look at a couple of the recent threads : but IF this was all then we know we are dealing with only one marriage.

That would mean that Mary POLMEAR was definitely the mother of Oliver ALLEN'S wife.

The problem is - was her husband Henry of Sennen or Henry of Towednack?

I must favour Towednack for reasons outlined in previous postings but I would still like to track down Henry s/o Leonard.

Cannot find a burial for him at Sennen but have not yet tried surrounding Parishes.

Have a look at Isles of Scilly - Henry Humphries m Martha Stevens Sept 1766, several children baptised including a Leonard so this is quite likely him.

Well done - so this almost certainly means that Henry of Towednack was the husband of Mary Polmear and therefore father-in-law of Oliver Allen.

And I guess it would be brother Leonard who married Lucretia Hicks October 1758 on Scilly?

That is what I assume. and of course the Hicks family marry into Henry's family and link eventually to the Trewhellas via Julia stepmother to Richard Edmund Wilson who married Sarah Trewhella - we talked about them some time back!

And don't forget William Pender HICKS and his wife Eliza Ann (nee MORTIMER) whose daughter Annie Mortimer HICKS married William Martin TREWHELLA at Edmonton in 1898.

Another I must get back to also just to complete a little background for my lot is the man you mentioned - Richard Edmund WILSON.

I will have to dig right back into the messages here to resurrect that one as, with everything else going on, I must admit to having completely forgotten it.

No, I don't believe I do so would appreciate the quickest link to access it if you don't mind, please.

Most of what I have on them is from my cousin Gail who is descended from her and from information I picked up whilst on the Scillies - including photos of the gravestone of William and Annie.

As for Julia and Richard - I really must dig deep and find all that stuff as I do not appear to have entered Julia's details into my database.
