My maternal side of my family are Cornish. My grandmother was born in West Penwith. Her father, James Mitchell, was shoemaker at Kelynack near St. Just before the family moved to Millom in Cumberland. My father was brought up very much in the Cornish tradition in that town, where many Cornish people had migrated due to the depression in Cornish mining at the turn of the twentieth century.

Hi David, welcome. Have a prowl around St Buryan Burrowings, that's our farming/shoemaking lot, but a warning...it gets complicated. Tony M ;D

Hello David, I hope I am not too late to strike an interest. I am of the OATS line and my OATS line is from all over the St. Just and Sancreed areas. I too have connections to the Kelynack area as that is where the OATS farm which was run by Richard Jeffery OATS and Elizabeth TREMBATH. was located. Hope I can help.
