Mike - your last comment requires the response of ' No S**T! ;D I will need to look at a few things before I can respond with anything on your first named families but you will find the name of SHAKERLEY mentioned in recent postings and you will also find some PHILLIPS data floating about from St Just. Tonkin and Warren are also names that I have worked a little on but cannot say I am expert with. How about we start with PHILLIPS of St Just and then try to work through the rest. Whatever name - I will try to help.

Hi Mike, I may be able to help with your Dennis line. Mine goes back to about 1550. Started at Sancreed and worked out from there. Wills included for this family. Roy

Roy - great to see you having some input here and offering to help. I will be looking forward to seeing some of this even though I have no known connection to the Dennis family. Just like to keep up with things as you never know when a connection might be found or when a small snippet of information will be produced to help with other lines. Keep up the good work.

I see a few names there of interest Roy. In fact, some of the descendants of the Oats/Oats family live here in Chiltern. Have not done much work on the 'Chiltern line' as yet but I believe they come from the St Just area. Must catch up with Charlie Oats who apparently has a book on the family produced by one of his relatives. Will need to remember to talk to Des Oats about this and see if I can get a look at a copy. You will see a few of your other names of interest mentioned throughout the Board - Cock, Weymouth, Woolcock, Maddern, Hicks, Grenfell etc. Looks like things might liven up even more once we start getting into some of these. And the Weymouth family brings in the Curnow family again. ;D

G'day and Welcome White,
How interesting. I have a few of the surnames you are looking for, in my Tree, although I can't remember (offhand) just where in Cornwall they all hail from. Are you directly related to the WHITE name?? I have 18 of them, so far. Do you have any UREN connections?

Hi Cornishpasty, Yes my White line goes back to about 1570 at St.Just. I do have many Urens in my file and would be happy to share the details/. They may be distant but could be of use to you. Roy

Hi Roy, good to hear from you again. We have communicated in the past, especially with regard to Jenkyn, son of John Dennis. Is this still the 'daddy' of our line? I have been steadily checking out the Dennis line, and am currently working on a project on Thomasine Dennis, the authoress. I have been unable to ascertain for sure which George Dennis married Jane Lethan. Was it the son of Peter and Joan, or the son of George and Mary (Richards). Do you have a definitive answer? Regards Mike

Where do those Hamptons of yours come in? Maybe you could post something in the Hampton board on them?

Been away for a while people and good to be back on line to see that you are working together. As I get the chance I will look over your input and see if there might be anything I can add to help. Ian

Hello! Of interest to Cornishpasty, perhaps. You mention "Martins of Penzance". There are many, incl. my late father, g.father and gg.father, the latter two under the name "John". Gulval, Ludgvan and Madron areas, farmers/miners. Family names incl.Rowe, Ross, Bennetts (distant), Berryman, Dunstan (possibly) Jeffery (poss.), Noys etc. Some went to Australia, RSA or Canada, some came back. Family Tree under "Martin and Rabenold" on Ancestry.co site. David.

Thanks David - I, too, will take a look at that just as soon as I get the chance. Very quickly checking the Board while I relax for a bit after work and then time to start packing and moving more stuff.
