You reckon BUGGER
You haven't been through all the bloody hassles I've had all night.
For the last few days my service has been dropping out quite often but mostly for only a few seconds or about a minute at most.
Well last night it all changed - and just because I was flat out trying to get stuff done as well as research answers for Carole et al.
It kept dropping out regularly and then dropped right out for about two hours before coming back online and playing silly games again.
Finally got back up and running and have been pretty much 'flat chat' ever since. Whew!
Things were that bad I decided to shut the whole system right down and see if it would refresh things.
Just back and, so far, seems one helluva lot better so will be hoping it keeps going now.
Ok - Paul Quick senior was baptised 19th July 1791 at Towednack s/o William Quick and Elizabeth (nee Hollow).
When young Paul was baptised his father was a 'servant/labourer' at Boskinning in Madron and it appears that he was the only child.
But the young fella made up for it by having eight kids of his own. (Wonder if he got the grandparents to look after them while he was busy.
)
And as if I don't have enough to do I just realised I need to also tidy up the Madron and Gulval area Quicks as well as St Buryan and the rest of Land's End.
Never mind, will leave that till a little later.
Trying to get my head around my next 'Problem' posting but I don't know whether to do the one on my own family first or the other one which seems to be quite a bit more complicated.
The 'other' one involves Towednack as a starting point.
It gets very messy but I have at least sorted out the starting point.
Remember the two John Quicks baptised at Towednack in 1805 - one in April and the other in August??
And both married someone named Mary??
Well I know which one was the culprit now so that must be a good start.
And if you believe everything that is written and put in front of you then this story will be for you!
On the face of it this guy was still fathering kids into his 70's - and if you don't believe it check out the Census records.
But I can explain better when I draft up the scenario.
As for the Glasson problem - Cornishmaid and myself have just had a go at it and offered some thoughts and are now waiting on a little bit more information from Carole so, unless you spot something immediately whilst having a quick glance, I should not worry too much about it today.
And you had best check out my little posting up in (I think) Chy-an-coweth.
Have had no responses so far but would like gauge some reactions to what is a true but tangled little genealogy.
Well I guess I had best get back to work for a couple of hours while I still have 'free time' and then I might try and get a couple of hours sleep before starting again.
