In 1841 there are two William Hockings at St Just who were both born about 1811 (according to the Census).
One is married to Eliza and, among his children, has a son named John aged 2.
The other William Hocking is married to Elizabeth and I believe this will be Elizabeth Bennetts.
This household includes Kitty Bennetts, 34, washerwoman, and John Bennetts aged 9.
I believe it likely that Kitty will be the sister of Elizabeth.
William Hocking married Elizabeth Bennetts at St Just 20th September 1834. (Both signed with their 'mark')
Witnesses were John Tregear (signed) and James Hall (mark)

John Hocking, 14, son, bn. St Just
Ruth Hocking, 2, daughter, bn. St Just
Mary BENNETTS, 86, wid., mother-in-law, annuitant, bn. St Just
So - the William Hocking who married Eliza appears to have been widowed about 1841 and then married Alice Oats in 1842.
The big problem here is that we now have BENNETTS in both families!
1851 Census - Church Place

This last family is greatly intact at St Just in 1861 and includes the John we have been discussing.
It is all so very confusing but I will keep at it.
