Ok - here are some of the problems in point form:-
1. William, Edith and Paul cannot be found in the 1891 Census.
2. Edith and Paul cannot be found in the 1901 Census.
3. The two children in the 1901 Census were born in America with the elder being born about 1890.
4. In 1901 William is at home with his mother (and sister and two grandchildren of his mother) and states he is single.
5. Are these two grandchildren sons of William or his missing brother Paul?
6. Although William stated he was single - was he actually widowed and, if so, where did his wife die?
7. When did these people go to America and when did they return?
8. What happened to the other sisters - Fanny, Sarah J and Elizabeth Ann? (They are not married at St Ives) (Fanny and Sarah are gone by the 1881 Census and Elizabeth by 1891.)
If we can answer at least some of the above we might be getting somewhere.
I think I am going to have to have a break from this for a while and come back later on - hopefully feeling a little fresher than now.

Amy here again: I can add a few things that I have from my notes:
As of what happened to Fanny (this is my great great grandmother) and she married on May 12, 1878 in St. Ives, Cornwall England (I have this marriage certificate) to Anthony Woolcock Davis the son of William Davis and Johanna Woolcock.
Fanny and Anthony had four children in St. Ives:
1. Fanny Davis b. 1879 d. 1882 both in St. Ives.
2. Anthony Woolcock Davis b. 1881 St. Ives d. 1969 in Crystal Falls, Michigan
3. Fannie Woolcock Davis b. 1884 St. Ives d. 1920 in Crystal Falls, Michigan
4. Paul Quick Davis b. 1887 St. Ives d. 1954 in Crystal Falls, Michigan
And after Fanny and Anthony immigrated to Crystal Falls, Michigan they had two more children:
5. Emma Jane Davis b. 1890 Crystal Falls, Michigan d. 1977 Crystal Falls Michigan
6. William Davis b. 1892 Crystal Falls, Michigan d. 1972 Crystal Falls, Michigan.
I believe that they immigrated around 1888/1889.
Also, I have notes from Ellis Island that:
Paul Quick age 19 arrival date October 24, 1912 going to Crystal Falls, Michigan to his Aunts Mrs. Anthony Davis at the Dunn Mine Location, then going to Ishpening Michigan (which is about 2 hours north of Crystal Falls). Not sure who is was going to see there.
and not sure who child this Paul belongs to (either Fanny's brother Paul or brother William).
Also, the town of Crystal Falls (is only abt 3,000 in population now, and was pretty much always the same size back in the 1900s.) but I found a Cemetery listing from the only cemetery in Crystal Falls:
William Quick burial date 1904 death date: 1/1/1904. This is the only Quick buried in Crystal Falls. I'm assuming that he is somehow related to Fanny, but need to find more info.
Also have a post card from St. Ives addressed to Paul Quick in care of Anthony Davis. I'll have to see if I can find the date on this and see who mailed this to Paul.
Other than this I have not much else on this family, beside the marriage certificate for Fanny and Anthony and Fanny's birth certificate.
