I figure I'd post this here...this could take several posts to get my information in.
So let me recap some stuff already.
John Eddy (son of William Eddy and Ann Tregoninng) married Grace Woolcock (daughter of William Woolcock and Mary Rowe) at Wesley Chapel on June 11, 1881. He was born Feb. 1, 1858 and died May 8, 1917. She was born Feb 5. 1861 and died March 1, 1921.
Their children are:
*William John (born 1882, died 1937) who married Eliza Warren
*Annie (born 1883) who married William Warren
*May (born 1888) who married Herbert Tinney and moved to the United States. I believe she lived in Rochester, New York prior to when Janie came to teh states. In the census she is known as "Minnie" but her name is May. (Ironically, they had daughter also named May and nicknamed "Minnie" and my mother actually remembers her).
*George (born 1889, died 1967) who married Lillian Rowe.
*Florrie (born 1892) who married John Boase.
*Janie (born 1893, died 1966) who had a child PRIOR to departing Cornwall (I have specific information about her arriving in Ellis Island to come later if anyone's interested). In the 1930 Census in the US, it strangely asks, "Age of first Marriage" to which is listed 26. So she must have been married in Penzance/Gulval sometime around 1819 and her son, William John, was born shortly after. Of all the missing information that there is regarding my family, I think this particular area of information interests me most. If someone could help me find out about this first marriage (marriage record) and child (baptism), it would piece a gap as to why she felt the need to leave Cornwall in the first place. Did her husband die soon after the marriage and birth and she was widowed? I know her father was already dead at this point and her mother died in 1921. She left in 1922 to come here to stay with May....it would be a reasonable conclusion. At any rate, once here, she had five children - Robert, Roy, Raymond (my grandfather), Herbert (who is still living) and Emma (also still living).
*Charles (born April 17, 1896, died Dec. 13, 1977 in Constantine, Cornwall) who married Elizabeth Jane Saundry in 1918
*Denton (born in 1900) who married a woman named May
*James (born in 1905, died in 1932)
*David who I don't have any birth or death information
