Garfy, here is your new board and a copy of your thread; we can continue the discussion here. BTW, just to let you know - you placed your query in exactly the right place - but now that we have indentified a possible parish, we might as well work on it here. I will now leave this in CT's very capable hands!

I know I have come across the name Elizabeth Bottrell in my family somewhere but I have lost a lot of paperwork. I have Noy or Noye in my family starting with Annie Noye who was born on 17 May 1870, Moonta, South Australia, She married James Best in Australia. Her parents were William Henry Noye born c1841 St Just, Cornwall, Died 16 May 1914 Australia, he married Catherine Anne Curnow 1863 in Penzance, Cornwall. William Henry Noye'd parents were Robert Noy born 1814 Pen, Cornwall, died 1881 Pendeen, Cornwall. He married Mary Anee Nankervis 1837 St Just. this is where I think Robert Noy and Elizabeth Botrell come in............I think, I have found them on another chart but with no dates and no children so I think this to me is a brick wall Nothing new I have plenty of them, my research system needs a lot of upgrading as does my filing system I think

My Noye connection is earlier, Noye and Tregurtha in the late 17th century. They may well be connected but I haven't researched after the early 18th century as that is where my connection stops.

The information I have for Robert Noy is that he was born 1755 Cornwall and died 1822. Elizabeth Bottrell was born 1759 Cornwall. They were married 14.11.1783. Their daughter Elizabeth was born 1.11.1790 St Just and died in Australia 1870. She married John Nekerwis 25.7.1812 St Just. John was born 1787 St Just and died 1848.
Robert and Elizabeth were my 5x great grandparents. I can go back farther on Elizabeths side but a brick wall with Robert.

On Ancestry there is a Family Tree entitled "Transportable", author Jen Pierratos. Enter Robert Noy under "search....fam trees", click on Transportable. It appears well-researched....Robert`s family back to Sampson 1586. My late father names a "Noy(e)" as as a relative, but it must be a very distant link, but I keep looking out for "clues". Names in the above Tree incl. Tresize (lots), White, Saundry etc. Robert Noy 1755 Sennen had 11 children. David.

Although I can get onto Ancestry I am unable to see the 'Transportable' tree due to it being a Public member tree. Thankyou for the info though, David. Any other info you can provide would be appreciated.

I am afraid that I am quite lost I have a Robert Noy b1814 who married a Mary Ann Nankervis b 1816 both in Pen, (don't know what that is) Cornwall. I think I might have to start at the beginning on this line, like I said I am just lost with my cornish ancestors, there is so many of them

Donna - don't let yourself become frustrated with this Cornish research. David and Newlyn seem to have matters in hand at the moment and I will be keeping an eye on the thread and will hopefully get a little more involved in it fairly soon. I have a few other things I am working on at the moment but David's outline on the descendancy/ascendancy of Walter NOYE is reflected in my own database. Keep yourself involved and let us know of your other Cornish Problems and we will find ways to get some answers for you. CT

Walter Noy b. 1694 d. 30.4.1762 St Just married Blanch Giles 12.10.1721 Madron. Blanch was b. 26.1.1695 Morvah. Possible father of Blanch - James Giles

Sampson who married Ann Lanion had been married before to a Jane Trewren. Will come back with more info on that.
