And they probably enjoyed a friendly pint at the local from time to time! ;D That particular part of the Trewhella family started with a marriage at St Buryan in 1829 with children baptised at St Buryan, Sennen and St Levan before it seems they finally settled at Sennen. Glad we have managed to clear the foliage so you could see that tree. CT

Ian, Two of us here near Newcastle, independently, have come to the conclusion William Harry, who married Mary Bone, was not the one baptised in 1791, but the William baptised in 1779. In 2007 you were of the opinion William 1791 had not married. I have written to Carlene. ericm

Hi Eric - Just to confirm that by 'William 1791' you mean the son of William Harry and Grace Giles? If so then you are correct and he did not marry. Nancy Tonkin suggested to me back around 1996 that he was buried at Sancreed in 1818 however that information appears to be also incorrect. Looking at the Sancreed PR now shows the following entry:- William Harry of Sancreed age 16 buried 26th April 1818 at Sancreed This William was born about 1801 or 1802 if the age is correct (it is quite clear in the register) so cannot be the son of William and Grace. And yes I agree that the husband of Mary Bone was baptised at Morvah 2nd May 1779 son of John Harry and Alice Harry. CT

I wonder if my ancestor Katherine Harry could be one of the Harry's of Morvah. I can't identify baptism records beyond 1700 which I think would help.
Katherine Harry married William Rogers in 1724 in Madron. She dies young in 1731 after having 3 children, Philip, Amy and Hugh. I believe William was born in 1699 in Sancreed the son of William and Blanch Rogers.
Can you advise how I can confirm baptisms in Morvah Parish 1700 - 1706?
Regards,
Glenn

According to the CFHS Index of Baptisms for Morvah the earliest baptism for a Catherine/Katherine Harry at Morvah was 1781 with only one other of that name baptised in Morvah to 1845.
Also - according to the Madron Parish Register William Rogers and Katherine Harry were both 'of Madron' at the time of the marriage. That merely means that they were resident of the Parish at the time so they each may have originated elsewhere.
If Katherine died young it may be a little more difficult to track her down unless there is a Will that names her as a daughter of perhaps sister.

CT,
Thank you for confirming that being of a parish relates to residence at the time. I had wondered whether this might be fixed at birth. I believe William was born in Sancreed and not Madron.
So, she is most likely not one of the Harry's of Morvah.
I have found an unnamed daughter of James Harry baptised in April 1700 in Madron so this is a possible lead I will pursue.
Thank you.
Glenn

The only children I know of are twins John and Mary baptised privately 22nd October 1800 at Morvah.
I don't know what became of any of this family.
