Cornish Maid has generously agreed that she may be able to do some local lookups. I will let her post the particulars here.

If anyone would like any information from either: The Cornwall Centre, Redruth - www.chycor.co.uk/general/red-lib/or the Archive Centre at St Ives: www.stivestrust.co.uk/html/the_archive.htmlI would be only too happy to try and help . I have put their URLs above as information on which archives they hold. I will try to get to one of them at least once a week. Any other requests for pictures of the area or gravestones also taken. In fact, ask away about anything I can help with in the area and I will see what I can do

You may well just have to standby and 'brace yourself' m'dear as I am thinking that, at some stage in the near future, your offer will be gratefully accepted by myself.

If anyone wants a lookup at the Cornish Studies Library, let me know. Will try to get there either this week or next If I am not too late, I have this posted on the Lelant Board: Maxwell Adam's Lelant Site has a listing of documents under:
"Lelant references at Cornwall Record Office"
And has the following under miscellanea:
Sale to Henry Edwards of Lelant (20 October 1563): B/St Ives/1,2
How could I get a copy of the above document? If you could secure me a copy of this, I would really appreciate it.

Will let Cornish Maid have a check first - but I am thinking our old friend in Truro (NRT) might possibly be the best hope. Ok - have just spoken to NRT as I noticed your reference mentioned Cornwall Record Office. Nancy is prepared to have a look and abstract the document for you and also suggests it may be one of those documents that may not be photocopied. However, she also suggested checking the Cornwall Record Office website as, if this document is available, it would be cheaper to get it that way. The other possible site you may get it is the old - A2A which has been mentioned in recent times. Nancy has the details and will have a look for you.

Well, not to disparage Nancy, but I'd rather have both look if possible. I do seem to recall in the past waiting for info from Nancy that never did materialize....

Let me know what that past lookup was and I will try to chase it up for you. Nancy is usually very good and will do what she can but remember she is now 74 years old. and is also doing lots for others.

I do remember someone was supposed to nip over to Melborne and get me Robert Hampton's Death cert. though....

- I guess this would be the Robert Hampton who died at Bendigo in 1915 and who had a brother, John, who died at Geelong in the same year. I don't remember just what happened there but it sounds like about the time I was starting to have some real troubles. Will try to come back to this thread periodically and see what I can do because I think it is all part of the 'missing Jane Hampton' problem.
