Hello All, Cornishmaid and Cornish Terrier particuarly who have been helping me with this previously
In a recent thread i had asked about the parentage of Elizabeth Ninnes Noall.....
"Elizabeth married William Bryant Noall in 1843, so at least we have the 1841 for reference. This may well be it:
HO107/144/5, ED: 1; Folio: 8 Page: 8, Address: Wharf, St Ives
NINNIS William M 55 Fisherman Cornwall
NINNIS Betsey F 55 Cornwall
NINNIS Betsey F 20 Tailoress Cornwall "
Cornishmaid thankyou, this would make a lot of sense to me and seem to be the right family.
In the 1881 census Elizabeth Ninnes and William Bryant Noall seemed to disappear (under these names), she reappearing in the 1891 as living with her daughter Mary C, and the only reference i could find in the 1881 that seemed as if it could be them was as follows;
61 Carncrouse Street, St Ives
Wm B Noall , M, 64, Seaman (afflicted)
Betsy N Noall, F, 60, Seaman Wife
M.E Noall, F, 20, Tailoress
So the "arrival" of "Betsy" N Noall doesnt seem so speculative when joined with the family on the census you mentioned above
The census definitely says M.E Noall and not M.C. as i might have expected, and the age doesnt quite fit with Mary Cogar Noall, yet i cannot find another reference before or after this to an M.E (as yet anyway!)
But seeing Elizabeth Ninnes earlier referred to as Betsey, and as a Tailoress also, makes more sense to me now that this is probably them.
Thankyou for the marriage reference too, i will have a look from there and see if i can find out more, although it seems that if there is another family more prolific in children than the myriad of Noalls, it could be the Ninnes/Ninnis! So im unsure how far I will get with both the Ninnes connection and a link somewhere to Towednack ;D
If i get any further with it, I will post it here of course - thanks again,
